The basics.

What is Asteriks?

Asteriks is an AI-native workspace that makes it easier to edit, manage and improve your website, using visual controls, natural language and direct content editing.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Everyday editing is designed to be approachable without code. Developers can still work with the underlying project when they need advanced customization.

Can I make changes without using AI?

Yes. Direct editing is an important part of Asteriks. AI is there to help when you want it, not a requirement for every change.

Is Asteriks a website builder?

Not in the traditional sense. Asteriks works with real website projects, including ones that already exist. Creating and expanding pages is part of it, but replacing your whole website is not the goal.

Is Asteriks a CMS?

It can play that role without the usual CMS workflow. Instead of filling in forms that barely resemble the page, you work with your site and its content directly.

What websites does Asteriks support?

Asteriks starts with Astro and file-based websites. Support for more frameworks and import workflows will grow over time.

Does Asteriks own or host my website?

No. Asteriks is built around portable website projects that you own. Hosting and deployment integrations aren’t available yet; today you publish from your own setup.

Can I undo changes?

Yes. You can restore earlier edits, and Snapshots keep meaningful versions of your work so you can go back to them.

Can agencies use Asteriks with clients?

Yes. A main goal is helping developers and agencies give clients a simpler way to edit, without giving up control of the actual website.

Can Asteriks improve my SEO?

Asteriks has an SEO surface for working on page metadata and the semantic structure of your pages, so improvements become actual changes to your site rather than items on a report.

How is Asteriks different from an AI coding agent?

AI coding agents are general-purpose developer tools. Asteriks is built for websites: visual context, content workflows and controlled publishing.
